Hello and welcome to our new page here on the Evergreen Clean® website " F.A.Q's ".  I thought maybe I should answer some of our most frequently asked questions, and give you the consumer an insight into Evergreen Clean® before you make the decision to contact us.

So sit back and I'll open the doors to what makes Evergreen green, and openly talk about everything from what machine we use, to why you should choose us over the countless other " carpet cleaners " out there, If of course the 150+ 5 star reviews aren't enough.

So many carpet cleaners claim to be " environmentally friendly and safe for people and pets ", how can I be sure you aren't just using that as a sales pitch ?

" You're absolutely right, I could just make these bold claims and who would know the difference, the thing is aside from my integrity the last thing I would want is to use any chemicals that could harm someone.

Not to mention Trading Standards could shut me down if I didn't use the chemicals that I claimed to use, and while this is a faceless website, I do have a family to support and the last thing I would ever do is risk losing the one thing that supports them.

I also encourage my customers to look at the chemicals I use and read the labels, which will either read non toxic, biodegradable or derived from a plant extract, so next time you use our services just ask to see them I don't mind :)

But of course some companies do lie, openly and without a care in the world about your safety or the well being of your children or pets, and while I actively fight against these people, only you can decide which company to use,  I just hope my reviews and honesty go some way to you choosing Evergreen Clean® "

The last guy to clean my carpets had a Rug Doctor, what do you use ?

" I'm afraid if the last guy who came to clean your carpets used a Rug Doctor then he's not a professional carpet cleaner, any self respecting carpet cleaner would not been seen dead using one of these machines, but that doesn't stop people using them.

A common trick cowboys use is to create a carpet cleaning Facebook page, book in lots of work offering cheap cleaning services, and then hire a Rug Doctor from Sainsbury's for £30, they call these types of  people " Splash N Dash ".  Avoid at ALL costs!.

But back to what we use, here's a photo of our new machine, a £2,000 Jaguar Cub, a 300 PSI wind tunnel vac monster of a machine, capable of eating through even the worst carpet dirt "

My carpet is really dirty, are you going to charge me more ?

" In a word  " No ", at Evergreen Clean® we do not charge more for dirty carpets, we will only charge more if you want us to clean more carpets or more upholstery.  We will never EVER give you a quote and change the price, add more on, bring up hidden costs or try and confuse you with jargon you don't understand in order to make more money.

My reputation is far more important to me than how much money I can make, and while you're reading this probably having never met me it would be easy to think otherwise.  But as I mentioned in an earlier FAQ I have a family to support, and you probably do too.  I understand what it's like to pay the bills, to keep a roof over your head and food on the table.  I understand the value of money.

So no I don't charge for dirtier carpets, for spot cleaning, second pre treatments, moving light furniture, deodorising, sanitising or any of the other myriad of things some carpet cleaning companies will charge you extra for.  I work on a very simple premise, if you have a dirty carpet or a dirty sofa, you get given a price ( which is fixed and at the top of the page ) and I clean it.

How long will it take to clean my carpets ?

Once set up, which can take around 20 minutes.  It will take between 20-25 minutes per room. This time may vary depending on the condition of the carpets, the amount of furniture we need to move, removing stains and odours, and whether or not you decide to have the carpet guarded, as this will add on extra time.  We do not charge any additional fee for moving small furniture such as side tables, coffee tables, chairs etc.  We also do not work to a time limit, so any work will take as long as it needs to be completed.

How long does it take for my carpets or upholstery to dry?

Drying times vary depending on how dirty things are, the type of carpet, airflow and even the time of year can drastically increase or decrease how quickly your carpets and upholstery take to dry.  The average drying time for our cleaning is around 4-12 hours, but this can be reduced by opening a window to reduce a build up of moisture in the air.  High Traffic Areas and those that have been treated for stains can take longer to dry than the rest of the carpet, so please don't be alarmed if that happens.

How long before I can walk on my carpets ?

You can walk on your carpets as soon as they have been cleaned.  The only things we advise against doing ( these will again be explained on the day ) is not wear brightly coloured socks while the carpet is still damp in case of dye bleed.  There are some other do's and dont's, but once again these will all be explained after an inspection has been done and any possible risks identified.
